The school's educational proposal is a varied, ongoing formation that promotes students' personal development based on four pillars: learning to know, learning to do, learning to live together, and learning to be. The institution was founded in 1978 by Spanish residents in São Paulo with the collaboration of the Spanish Educational Administration and operates as a Spanish-Brazilian private entity that aims to offer quality, creative, and innovative education and to promote the Spanish language and culture. The educational aims emphasize the complete development of the student's personality; respect for the rights and fundamental freedoms and the exercise of tolerance and freedom within democratic coexistence; acquisition of intellectual habits and knowledge across scientific, technical, humanistic, historical, and aesthetic domains; preparation to participate actively in social and cultural life; promotion of the study of Spanish and Portuguese; and stimulation of sociocultural understanding between Spain and Brazil. The educational system is organized in three levels: Educación Infantil (early childhood education), Enseñanza Fundamental (primary and lower secondary), and Enseñanza Media (upper secondary). Education is delivered in a personalized manner that provides holistic development from personal and social perspectives and, where appropriate, professional preparation. To achieve these goals, teachers continually update the educational project to help students reach the maximum development of their capacities, form their own criteria, and attain the maturity and knowledge needed to make free and responsible decisions. The studies conducted at Colegio Miguel de Cervantes are officially recognized as equivalent to those of the Spanish system; the equivalence is evidenced through school histories, certificates, and diplomas issued by the relevant Brazilian and Spanish educational authorities. The school also offers a double titulación (dual qualification).
The school promotes complete development of the student's personality. It fosters respect for rights and fundamental freedoms and the exercise of tolerance and freedom within the democratic principles of coexistence. It promotes the acquisition of intellectual habits and working techniques, as well as knowledge across scientific, technical, humanistic, historical, and aesthetic fields. It prepares students to actively participate in social and cultural life. It promotes peace, cooperation, and solidarity among peoples and the study of Spanish and Portuguese languages, fostering sociocultural understanding between Spain and Brazil.
Students develop broad formative objectives and experience adolescence. They plan life projects, build new relationships, and face physical and emotional changes.
