Urban International School (UIS) is a private high school in Canada for students aged 12 to 18. It follows the Canadian Curriculum with Middle School (grades 7–8) and High School (grades 9–12). Billing schedule and payment terms

- Middle School follows a two‑semester academic year: Semester 1 (September–January) and Semester 2 (February–June). Tuition is shown both as an annual amount and as a per‑semester amount.
- High School operates on a multi‑semester system with up to five short semesters per year (each 8–10 weeks depending on the term); students may enrol into semester‑length courses and fees are structured by credits/semester packages.
- Invoices carry the school's bank details and payment instructions; payments should allow sufficient processing time when using wire transfer, Flywire, cheque, or other bank channels. Specific invoice due dates and installment deadlines appear on each student invoice.

Boarding & Accommodation (where provided)

- UIS offers on‑site residence options (UIS Main Residence and UIS Regular Residence) and homestay options (Premium and Regular Homestay). Homestay pricing is CAD 1,650 for a 4‑week stay (three meals); homestay placement fee is CAD 250; airport pick‑up is CAD 150. Residence and homestay arrangements include three meals and student support according to the accommodation type selected.

Refund information and conditions

- International students: a full refund less an administration fee of CAD 600 is granted only if a Canadian study permit is refused by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Refund requests must be supported by the original Letter of Refusal from IRCC, the original Letter of Acceptance from the school, and the original receipt for paid tuition. No refund is issued if the student or guardians withdraw after the school issues a tuition receipt and/or Letter of Acceptance, unless the study permit is officially rejected by IRCC.
- Domestic students: no refund is issued once the student starts courses, even if the student does not complete the courses, due to class‑enrolment management.

Fee payment options

- Wire transfer to the school's bank account; the beneficiary name is Urban International School (2017) Inc.; bank details appear on each student invoice.
- Flywire (online payments including many local bank methods and credit/debit card payments).
- Money order, bank draft or certified cheque payable to Urban International School (2017) Inc. (include student name and ID on the payment).
- E‑Transfer (for Canadian bank accounts) to deposit@uihs.ca; include student name and payment purpose in the memo to help verification.

Wellbeing

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

UIS provides student welfare services to support social and emotional learning. UIS counselors and teachers reach out to every student who needs attention to ensure no one is left out. The school emphasizes a caring culture and ongoing access to counseling and wellbeing support. Student welfare services include proactive mentoring, conflict resolution, and behavior guidance. The environment encourages students to seek help for emotional and social needs when required.

English as an Additional Language (EAL)

UIS has the AAP Program (ESL) designed to equip English learners for academic success. The ESL program provides courses across Grade 9 to 12, including a progression from ESLAO to ESLDO and onward to Grade 12 English. English Literacy Development is part of the ESL curriculum. The timetable includes courses such as Learning Strategies: Skills for Success in Secondary School and Information and Communication Tech in Business. Mental Wellbeing

UIS provides mental wellbeing support through the Student Adaptation Service (SAS). The SAS offers individual counseling with a professional Canadian counselor throughout the school year. New students participate in this service at the beginning of the school year; current students may access it as needed. Counselors provide support in multiple languages to reflect the diversity of the student body.

Safeguarding

UIS prioritizes safeguarding through its Student Service and welfare supports. Counselors and teachers reach out to students in need to safeguard their wellbeing. UIS offers counseling and adaptation services to support student safety and welfare. The Student Service provides access to counseling and resources to address welfare concerns. These measures contribute to a supportive environment that promotes student safety and wellbeing.

Admissions

Admissions

Complete the UIS Application Form and submit it with Supplementary Information: UIS Application Form; Official Transcript and a passport front-page copy. Send the transcripts of the last two academic years in English to the UIS Admission Department. After review, a UIS student counselor will assist with the next steps. You will receive a personalized study plan along with an invoice and CLOA (Conditional Letter of Acceptance) for payment. Pay the invoice to receive the Official Letter of Acceptance (LOA) and the official receipt; review the Refund Policy (bank information is on the invoice). Apply for a Canadian study permit and visa; processing times vary by country. Once the study permit is approved, prepare to study abroad.

Scholarships

UIS Graduation Scholarship Program: The school offers a Graduation Scholarship Program. Students who have high marks in their academic year and engage in school and community activities are considered for UIS Scholarship.
