Conversions to per‑term and per‑year figures (calculation method stated)

- The school publishes monthly tuition amounts only. Where a per‑year or per‑term value is required, the following conversions were used for consistency in this overview:
- Annual amount = published monthly amount × 12.
- Per‑term amount (illustrative) = published monthly amount × 4 (illustrative three‑term academic year assumption).

Brief note on published information gaps

- The school publishes the complete monthly fee tables (primary and secondary), the Hort voucher requirement and a flat Hort charge if no voucher is supplied, and the non‑refundable assessment fee. The public pages do not publish a detailed billing schedule (number and timing of instalments), comprehensive refund/withdrawal rules for tuition, or a list of accepted payment card/providers. Bank transfer (IBAN/BIC) details are published and are the only explicit payment channel shown.
Academics

Berlin Bilingual School - Primary Campus teaches German Curriculum for students aged 6 to 12.

Curriculum

Primary School follows the Berlin State Curriculum (Berliner Rahmenlehrplan). The day features 90-minute teaching blocks and 45-minute lessons. All students study English, German, Mathematics, Social-Studies/Science, Music, Physical Education, and Art, with Grade 3 onward taught by both a teacher and an Erzieher:in. Grade 5 can add French or Spanish; both English and German are taught at native level. The programme aims to prepare students for bilingual qualifications in Secondary School, with more than half the staff native speakers and at least C1 proficiency in the other language. Primary class sizes are capped at 25.

Student Teacher Ratio

Primary classes have no more than 25 students; secondary class sizes are described as small with a close student-teacher ratio.

Higher Education Progression

Secondary students take the bilingual Abitur in Grade 12 or 13, the German university entrance qualification. The Abitur examinations are conducted in the language in which the subject is taught, enabling study at German and international universities.

Wellbeing

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

Educators (Erzieher:in) support students' social and emotional development throughout the school day and work with teachers to address individual needs. The Hort (after-school care) includes in-class Hort as a platform for discussion, bonding and social education, with topics that address social and emotional well-being. The primary Hort curriculum covers Feelings, Empathy & Tolerance, Developing Self-Awareness, and related social skills to foster inclusive interaction. The Erzieher:in role provides continuity across the day, facilitates group bonding and supports students' social development in class and on the playground. The school emphasises participation, teamwork and cooperation between students, staff and parents, and upholds respect, responsibility and reliability as core values. A Chill out room is available to support student wellbeing.

English as an Additional Language (EAL)

The school provides bilingual English-German education for primary and secondary students. We enroll students who have been raised in English and German; language proficiency in both English and German is a prerequisite for admission. Students in Grades 2-13 must be bilingual and biliterate. Older students with one language more dominant should have at least a B1/B2 level in the non-mother tongue. The school assesses language skills before enrollment to ensure readiness; applicants from abroad must include the last two report cards. There is no language support programme for students who do not speak German or English; additional tutoring has to be organized by the parents.

Mental Wellbeing

The primary co-curricular programme places social and emotional development at the center of day-to-day life, with educators supporting students' social and emotional needs throughout the day. The Hort, including In-Class Hort, provides opportunities for class discussion, bonding and social education. Grades 1-6 Hort topics include Feelings, Empathy & Tolerance, Developing Self-Awareness, Transitions and related social skills. A Chill out room is available to support wellbeing. A Social Worker's Office is open daily in the secondary school to support student wellbeing.

Safeguarding

A Social Worker's Office is open daily to students, providing safeguarding and welfare support. The 3R's emphasize respectful, reliable and responsible interaction and promote participation, teamwork and cooperation between students, staff and parents. The school recognises and accepts people regardless of gender, independence, religion, sexual orientation or disability. Barrier-free entrance demonstrates a commitment to inclusive education and accessibility for all.
