Centro Escolar El Roble is a private, nonprofit, bilingual, boys-only day school in Guatemala City. Founded in 1970 and part of APDE, it serves about 760 students. It offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB DP) and is an IB World School; it is also a Cambridge International Examinations center. The Guatemalan MOE-accredited program blends a common core with a university-preparatory bilingual curriculum mandated by MOE. In grades 9–10, students take about 13 courses per year; in grades 11–12 they complete the two-year IB Diploma Programme in addition to local requirements. Spanish is the main language of instruction, with roughly 80% of courses taught in Spanish; English is introduced in early grades and continues in the IB English B HL; German ab initio is offered as an elective. Graduation options include the Guatemalan MOE Diploma with IB bilingual Diploma or with or without IB certificates. The school emphasizes social responsibility through Solidarity and a house system (RO Clan), and provides college guidance via a dedicated College Counselor.
