The British Royal School follows the United Kingdom National Curriculum, with Spanish and Galician taught as part of a bilingual education. From secondary, students prepare for the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and, from the 2028-2029 academic year, will study the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) in their final two years.
PSHE is taught to develop personal, social and emotional skills. The program emphasizes active learning and the important home–school relationship as part of the educational philosophy. Primary students receive reinforcement classes to become independent learners, and a system of diplomas, points and prizes supports motivation and achievement.
British Royal School offers the British curriculum taught by native English-speaking teachers and complements it with Spanish curriculum subjects to obtain both British and Spanish qualifications. The Admissions Department is open year-round and welcomes visits; families are encouraged to visit the school and discuss the curriculum and observe the learning environment. A Day of Trial is offered so children can join a class of their age and experience a typical day at the school. The five-step admissions process is: 1. Consultation, 2) Visit to the school, 3) Day of Trial or online assessment/interview, 4) Offer of a place, 5) Enrollment. The majority of students join in September, and early admission is advised to guarantee a place.
