Place‑guarantee (deposit) fee
- Place guarantee fee: EUR 1,000 per child. This fee must be paid by the specified deadline to guarantee a place for the following school year; it is treated as an advance on the annual fee and is deducted from the year's invoice. A family that does not use the guaranteed place forfeits the right to refund of the place‑guarantee fee.

- Preschool class through Year 9 (standard): EUR 8,700 per school year.
- Preschool class through Year 9 (students approved for state subsidy): EUR 6,500 per school year.

Per‑term amounts and billing schedule
- The school issues the annual invoice in March. The annual tuition may be paid in a single annual payment or split into two instalments. The annual fee can be divided into two payment occasions as follows: the autumn instalment (Höstterminen) and the spring instalment (Vårterminen); specific payment deadlines are set on the invoice. A fixed late‑payment charge of EUR 200 is applied for overdue payments; unpaid debts may be referred to debt‑collection after a board decision.

Payment terms and commitment
- The school offers full‑year places (except if a vacant place becomes available for the spring term). By accepting a place the family is committed to paying the whole annual fee for the school year. Amounts already paid toward the annual fee are not refundable in normal circumstances.

- No separate uniform fee or uniform cost is listed as a mandatory school charge. Additional optional costs (extracurricular activities, trips, exam fees outside ordinary school time) may be charged separately where applicable.

Refund and state‑subsidy handling
- Enrolment, queue and place‑guarantee fees are non‑refundable under the stated rules. Paid annual fees are not normally refunded. If a student is subsequently approved for state subsidy (statsbidrag), the subsidy difference is credited against the next year's fee or refunded if the pupil leaves the school.

Fee payment methods and invoicing
- The school issues an invoice (annual invoice sent in March). Bank account details are provided for payment (families are instructed to request or use the account details given on the invoice). The school's administration handles account information and invoicing. No mandatory credit‑card payment option is listed for fee payment; payment by bank transfer to the school's account is the documented method.
Academics

Curriculum

The school follows the Swedish teaching regulations. The main language is Swedish, with Year 1 students exposed to English, Spanish and Swedish, and Catalan is voluntary for those who already have a good level of Spanish. Approximately 40% of education is delivered in a language other than Swedish, with Spanish taught daily in conversation and as regular education; some subjects are taught partly in Spanish or English. The English language is approached in a natural way, and older students raise their linguistic level through activities such as music or speakers of English. Physical education is provided twice weekly with visits to an equipped sports center, the beach, or the nearby Bellver woods, and includes sailing, canoeing, windsurfing, swimming and riding. The school works with mixed-age groups and offers an individually designed education in small groups, and the education is approved by Swedish and Spanish authorities.

Exam Results

The Balearic school inspectorate reported that Svenska Skolan Mallorca is the international school with the best Spanish education. The school is approved by Swedish and Spanish authorities.

Admissions

Admissions

Admission is possible for all classes and interest is high. In primary school there is a waitlist because more applicants than places exist. Gymnasium admissions run until the end of June. We operate a waitlist system with “syskonförtur” (sibling priority): children who have siblings at the school are admitted first, and then admissions are determined by the date of application. In March the first admission decisions are issued, and the process continues until June. Applications are made by filling out the form online via the link provided. We will answer any questions you may have in advance. The school has a limited number of places. The shortest time we accept students is one year. An application fee is paid when submitting the application; the school will inform you of the account and amount. When the school notifies new parents of a placement, the enrollment fee is paid. The school has limited capacity to accommodate students with special needs; contact the school early for information. Who can start at the school? Anyone with a connection to Sweden or the Nordic countries. The Swedish language is important to follow the instruction and becomes more important with age; a teenager who lacks Swedish has little chance to follow the instruction. The Swedish state provides subsidies for students in classes 0–9. The school has limited capacity to accommodate students with special needs; contact the school early for information. For children with special needs there is more information here: attach before application. Information about eligibility for government subsidies and scholarships: the process for applying for eligibility for government subsidies is completed in September in consultation with the school. Eligibility concerns which students are entitled to government subsidies and thus lower term fees. Scholarships can be applied for from children from 6th grade up to gymnasium; see the school site for information.

Scholarships

Stipendieansökan: Svenska Skolan Mallorcas gymnasies stipendium grants 1000 € to one gymnasium student each year. In addition to the financial support, the recipient is designated as the school's ambassador for the coming academic year. Who can apply? A student enrolled with us who is applying to year 2 or year 3; a student who has demonstrated good results through hard work, perseverance and high attendance. What does it mean to be the school's ambassador? Help with visits to the school; share your experiences as a student at the school; act as a mentor for new gymnasium students; contribute content to social media and other channels where the school is visible. Application steps: Step 1 — Registration: record a short film (max 1 minute) explaining why you should receive the scholarship and how you will contribute as ambassador; send the film to gymnasiet@svskmallorca.se no later than 31 April. Step 2 — Notification: at the end of the school year the ambassador is announced and awarded the scholarship. Step 3 — Payout: the 1000 € scholarship is paid after the school year ends. Conditions for application: the scholarship recipient agrees that the school may use photos and videos of the ambassador role on the website, social media and other channels. Scholarships can be applied for from students from 6th grade up to gymnasium; see the school site for information.

Waitlist

Antagning: What does “sibling priority” mean and how is the waiting list handled? We have a waitlist with “sibling priority”: siblings already at the school are given first priority, followed by the date of application. October: Parents in the queue are invited to open houses. November: Open houses are held. January: Parents with children currently at the school are asked about continuing next year. February: Current members pay a place-guarantee fee for the coming year; those on the waiting list are asked if they are still interested. March: The first admission decision is made; documents from the current school are submitted; passports and NIE copies are sent at the same time as admission. April: Enrollment fee and term fee are paid. May: Second admission. Offers of places are made in order; the place is confirmed when the fee is paid and the enrollment form is submitted. Can one start in January or during the term? If vacancies arise, interested students are offered a place. Those who stay on the waiting list for the next year need only confirm continued interest.
